Happy Holidays

Finally, a two week break. I am looking so forward to sleeping in, or at least, not getting out of the house at least five days each week! Gonna live in my PJs.

This year things have been good. Not without ups and downs but I am quite thankful that we have been so lucky and blessed. Let us all remember those who aren’t as fortunate during this holiday season.

Psalms 109

Personally, I’m offended and outraged. I can not even imagine putting giving the idea in my head that I should pray for someone’s death. That their children be cursed to beg for the rest of their lives as vagabonds. It is so obvious that those who even suggested such a thing did not read on. For example:

2 for wicked and deceitful men
have opened their mouths against me;
they have spoken against me with lying tongues.

3 With words of hatred they surround me;
they attack me without cause.

4 In return for my friendship they accuse me,
but I am a man of prayer.

5 They repay me evil for good,
and hatred for my friendship.

This could be written by our president. Accusations abound with no foundation in truth. Further down the scripture we find:

16 For he never thought of doing a kindness,
but hounded to death the poor
and the needy and the brokenhearted.

Obviously, this does not speak of a man who wishes for the poor and needy to be given healthcare they can afford. Plenty of kindness and given charity has come from this man. The brokenhearted were certainly not hounded, but respected as they received their dead from a far away land. Standing there with them in their hour of need, not shutting out the world so that they do not see the travesty of war. Allowing these families the respect their soldiers deserve upon their final homecoming. As a nation we must look upon those caskets and see that it is real.

Ignorance is not an excuse for awful behavior. Morally righteous people do not wish death upon a person because of political disagreements. The moral right doesn’t pray that a man’s children be vagabonds begging for their meager existence. Shame.
